Live More Comfortably: 4 Tips That Make it Way Way Easier
Creating a home that is comfortable for you is the investment that keeps on giving. But how do you nail down “comfortable”? To help you create a home that is comfortable for you and yours, I’ve pulled together my top four tips. Let’s get started, so you can get comfortable!
1- Repurpose rooms to fit your lifestyle
Does your family eat at the kitchen island (or over the sink?!) rather than in the formal dining room? Is your mudroom more of a dog walking station than a drop zone for kiddos? It’s important to make sure that your spaces function best for YOUR life. It’s key to creating that unique sense of comfort at home. If the dining room just sits empty, repurpose the space as a fun games room or a home office space for those work from home days. Turn your underutilized mudroom into a pet friendly dog wash zone that’s more conducive to furry paws. We love to help solution spaces to best fit your lifestyle.

2 - Buy what makes you happy
Trends may come and go, but things that make you happy are always in style. It sounds cheesy, but it’s true! If your home is reflection of you it will always bring that sense of comfort. If you’ve got a love for antique pottery, keep thrifting and find a space to display your most prized possessions. Are you a plant-loving family? Make sure your home is lush with healthy greenery all year round. Many designers will tell you what not to do, but we believe that what makes you happy will always have a place in a well designed, yet comfortable home.

3 - Create spaces that speak to your interests
We recently worked with a client who had a love and passion for music, which had been relegated to the basement just because he didn’t know what to do with his collection of vinyls and guitars. We helped him create a music room where he could explore this passion. Is meditation and mindfulness a part of your daily routine? Carve out a corner for your meditation cushion, yoga mat and essential oils. It doesn’t have to be a dedicated room, we can help you find the right space and design solution to ensure that your interests are present at home.
